Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is an American animal rights activist, author as well as a model and actress. Her name is well-known for movies like Love Story (1970) Goodbye Columbus (1969) and The Getaway (1972). Her desire to be an artist was inspired from her childhood as a member of the New York family of artists. She started as a photographic assistant and then moved on to acting and modeling. Her two first films were noticed and she received an award called the Golden Globe Award of Most promising newcomer. MacGraw's movie Love Story proved a major hit and fetched her worldwide fame along with several awards including an Academy Award' nomination and the Golden Globe award. After only three movies, she received the title of top female debut at the box office around the globe. At Grauman's Chinese Theater, in 1972, she got her handprints and signature engraved. The actress has appeared in a variety of different films, such as The Getaway Convoy Players and television miniseries The Winds of War among many others. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography by her, was published. MacGraw has married thrice.
